Kalliane grew up in an artistic family surrounded by music, which inspired her to dance and sing. She began studying dance at the age of 4, mainly at Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, as well as with street dance companies Define Movement, Sikat Dance Company, Project Dance Company and Dangerous Goods Crew. Kalliane is well versed in Hip-Hop, freestyling, urban choreography and modern/contemporary.

Starting out in dance studios and trying out different dance styles, she decided in her early teen years that she wanted to mainly focus on street styles, which inspired her to explore her own style and freestyling. She regularly travels to cities across Canada and the USA to attend various workshops, sessions, classes and battles with world-renowned dancers, dance teachers and choreographers. Her ongoing training consists of solo and group freestyle sessions in Hip-Hop and house, urban choreography workshops and battling.

Kalliane was accepted into Rubberbandance Group’s winter intensive training program held in Montreal in December 2016. In June 2017, she performed in multi-media/contemporary dance artist Freya Olafson’s piece, “CPA – Consistent Partial Attention” in Montreal at the OFFTA Festival. In July 2017, she will be performing and competing at Les Jeux De La Francophonie in Ivory Coast, Africa, again presenting “CPA – Consistent Partial Attention”.

Kalliane is a member of U.S. based dance company Female Energy and the
co-founder of Winnipeg’s multi-disciplinary arts events company, On The
One Collective where she provides platforms for Winnipeg dancers to
battle, cypher and perform. She performs in music videos and many special
events across the city and abroad. She has been a dance teacher, mentor
and choreographer in inner city youth programs, schools, studios as well as
a judge for Winnipeg dance battles. Kalliane hopes to inspire dancers of all
ages to freely and joyously express themselves.
