In residence at Oboro New Media Arts Centre in Montréal developing 'MAE - Motion Aftereffect' - July 2nd - August 2nd, 2018

July 2, 2018

With the support of the Manitoba Arts Council & Canada Council for the Arts I am working on a new performance work. Which will premiere in September 2019 - looking forward to sharing the results of this research. oboro's website

MÆ - Motion Aftereffect intends to reveal how virtual reality technology can destabilize meaning(s) of the corporeal body. The project engages with content from the Internet: open source motion capture libraries,  ready-made 3D human models and monologues of individuals recounting their experiences with VR in live gameplay, explorative worlds, VR porn. These texts and visuals conflate with found youtube monologues that recount out of body experiences and astral projection.  The MÆ project is a new work in development that aims to catalyze conversations about contemporary culture and performance while imagining societies future with advances in VR technologies.

MÆ - Motion Aftereffect will be available for presentation and touring in Canada and abroad.
